  • 2006

    The Health Quality Planning Commission (HQPC) was created by the Idaho Legislature. The Commission was charged with promoting improved quality of care and health outcomes through investment in health information technology.

  • 2008

    Idaho Health Data Exchange (IHDE) is created as a result of the efforts of the Health Quality Planning Commission.

  • 2008-2009

    IHDE gained momentum and participants throughout these years. Initial funding for the effort was appropriated by Idaho’s Legislature.

  • 2010

    Funding appropriated by the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant funds.

  • 2012

    IHDE launches the Image Viewing Repository

  • 2013

    IHDE establishes CCD functionality, a Market Place Review, and support comes from State Initiatives such as the Statewide Healthcare Innovation Plan (SHIP)

  • 2014

    IHDE selects a new vendor platform

  • 2015

    The new platform is successfully integrated and launched.

  • 2016-2018

    IHDE successfully launches Direct Messaging, and collaborates with the State Health Innovation Plan (SHIP) and Medicaid Healthy Connections to improve speed, quality, safety, and cost of patient care statewide.

    IHDE continues to innovate and add new services for our participants and stakeholders.
