The Board of Directors of the Idaho Health Data Exchange (IHDE), a Boise based health information solutions organization is pleased to announce the creation and staffing of the Office of the Executive Director. The Board has engaged Capitol Health Associates LLC (CHA), a consulting firm specializing in the areas of value-based care, health information technology, and corporate management services to lead operations at IHDE. As the Idaho healthcare landscape continues to evolve, driving care delivery transformation and advancing to increased value-based models, continuous improvement of healthcare technology and population health tools is of growing importance.
Our selection of CHA is based on their national reputation in developing cutting edge, first of their kind health information technology systems for chronic care and population health management that are currently in use today by enterprise-scale health institutions. Previous experience includes projects working with Vermont Healthcare Reform and helping to develop and execute several successful initiatives in the state. In addition, CHA has completed projects or is actively providing services for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, Veterans Administration, Department of Defense Health Affairs, Tri-Care Management Activity, Accenture and Deloitte Consulting, Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, health information exchange networks in a number of states, and several large private healthcare entities.
Principals of the company working directly with IHDE will be Hans Kastensmith serving as Executive Director and Dr. Craig Jones who will assist in executing several new lines of business aimed at supporting emerging value-based care initiatives in Idaho. We view these efforts as strongly aligning with the IHDE vision to solidify a state-of-the art infrastructure and to meet the needs of key IHDE stakeholders and citizens of Idaho.
Mr. Kastensmith, a 5-time CEO, is a seasoned healthcare executive with 29 years of experience in healthcare. Mr. Kastensmith has founded, managed, established financing for and advised a number of healthcare technology, diagnostic and population health management companies. In addition, Mr. Kastensmith has successfully helped to shape healthcare policy with the United States Congress as a subject matter expert representing clients on several critical healthcare issues.
Dr. Jones has focused his career on efforts that take a comprehensive approach to improving healthcare, and the health and wellbeing of citizens. Dr. Jones assists states and federal partners on the design, development, and implementation of value-based health models, such as use of data and health information to support the goals of the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) initiative.
